You don’t even need to repeat your order information; we’ll just pull up your quote and work from there. All we’ll need from you is your delivery information and where you’d like the dumpster placed. Most of our customers keep their dumpster in a driveway, but we also deliver to other private areas such as construction sites, warehouses, stores, and other commercial locations. Sometimes we can place dumpsters on a public street by the curb, but you must obtain a street permit from Knoxville’s building department.

What to Do Before Your Dumpster Gets to You

Preparing for a dumpster delivery is a lot like preparing for the arrival of a newborn. There’s a bunch of work that needs to be done before it arrives, like baby-proofing all the doors, sharp corners, and cabinets in the house or setting up their new room. The same applies to when you’re updating a corner of your home, or even the entire house. You’ve got to get all your tools in place and draw up the final plans for the addition or remodel. And you also need to make sure your dumpster has a place to call its own on your property.

For residential customers, this will mean removing any cars or potential obstacles from the driveway and the front of the house. The driver will need 14-18 feet of vertical clearance, as well as 70 feet of ground clearance to back the dumpster into your driveway. Keeping an area with these dimensions open will ensure that the dumpster can fit in the space you’ve designated for placement.

Once the dumpster is placed, there are some things to bear in mind before you start throwing everything into the dumpster. First, be aware of what can and cannot go into the dumpster. Common household hazardous waste including electronics, tires, mercury-containing bulbs, and cleaners are generally prohibited from dumpsters.

Additionally, fuels, adhesives, resins, filters, oils, car batteries, and paints are also prohibited due to their potential to either damage the roll off container or pollute the air, water, or ground. Follow Knoxville’s Solid Waste Administrative Office disposal guidelines for hazardous materials if you need to dispose of any of these items.
